Both begin the same way: one conversation before Shabbat, a locked plan at candle-lighting, a quiet recap after three stars. Founding members keep their rate for life.

We're working toward a tier that adds a professional monitoring service to the arrangement, so that sensor events during Shabbat reach someone whose job it is to respond. That tier opens only if and when a monitoring partnership is signed — we will not describe it as available before then.
Founding waitlist is open; founding rates carry over if and when Premium opens.

What “founding member” means
Founding rates are for the beta households and the first congregations who join before public launch — they're a genuine thank-you, they last as long as your subscription does, and there's no countdown clock on this page because we don't do that. When the founding window closes, we'll simply say so.
Its rules are built into the code: everything is set before Shabbat, nothing new is decided during it, and it does no business of any kind. We built Mendel's rules around rabbinic review, and some questions are still open with a posek — we'll say what was ruled, in the rav's own words, once that's in writing. Whether Mendel is right for your home is a question for your own rav, and we'd want it no other way.
Mendel is not an alarm system, a monitored alarm, or a medical-alert service, and it is not a substitute for calling 911. What Mendel does is send the messages you arranged before Shabbat to the people you listed. Delivery depends on your sensors, your power, your internet, and outside phone and email networks — so it's best-effort, and we say so plainly. If your household needs monitored life-safety coverage, you need a licensed alarm or medical-alert provider, and you should have one regardless of Mendel.
Mendel works with common smart-home devices and sensors you supply. During setup it tells you exactly what your plan needs — many homes already own most of it.
Anytime, from your account, no phone call required. Founding rates end when the subscription does.
