What “founding member” means
Founding rates are for the beta households and the first congregations who join before public launch — they're a genuine thank-you, they last as long as your subscription does, and there's no countdown clock on this page because we don't do that. When the founding window closes, we'll simply say so.
Mendel was designed with rabbinic guidance, and its rules are built into the code: everything is set before Shabbat, nothing new is decided during it, and it does no business of any kind. But whether it's right for your home is a question for your own rav — and we'd want it no other way.
Emergencies always come first. On Base, alerts go to the contacts you chose. Premium — once our monitoring partnership is live — will send sensor events to a licensed 24/7 monitoring professional who can dispatch help. Honestly said: Mendel is not a monitored alarm or a medical-alert service, and it's not a substitute for calling 911 — alerts depend on your sensors, power, and internet.
Mendel works with common smart-home devices and sensors you supply. During setup it tells you exactly what your plan needs — many homes already own most of it.
